Perversion Therapy

We've heard a lot about these so called 'conversion therapies', generally peddled by right-wing religious nut jobs, which aim to 'convert' homosexuals 'back' to heterosexuality.  The whole thing is based upon the premise that homosexuality is a deviance, a learned behaviour or simply a 'lifestyle choice' rather than being something inherent in someone's character.  So, following this 'logic', such behaviours and choices can be 'corrected' and the individual 'sufferer' brought back to the 'norm'.  In practice, this sort of 'therapy' probably mainly consists of beating gay people until they 'recant'.  That and subjecting them to aversion therapy: their genitals are wired up to the mains, shown gay porn and shocked every time they have a sexual response to it.  As I said, we've heard a lot about these 'therapies', but I'm surprised that we haven't heard anything about the opposite form of 'conversion therapy': forcibly turning people from heterosexual to homosexual.  I mean, if the right wing religious kooks are right, then there must a lot of this sort of thing going on: strapping straight girl-loving guys being violently turned into cock hungry, limp wristed gays.  Because, if they are right, (which they aren't), then surely they would have these sorts of stories all over the right-wing press, with lurid headlines as to how 'Liberal perverts made me love gay butt sex', or something similar.

Such is the extreme religious right's penchant for sensationalist propaganda, I'm left wondering where the stories of liberal parents forcing their kids to 'go gay' because it fashionable, are.  You know the sort of thing - 'We were shamed by our son's straightness - how could we claim to be truly liberal without a gay son? say Democrat voting Vermont couple'.  Or perhaps there could be tales of how the Democrats are planning enforced 'homosexualisation' of young men so that the US can meet its UN-approved 'quota' of minorities: 'Bernie Sanders wants your boys to take it up the keister in World Government equality scam'.  Doubtless, there would be stories full of salacious details of exactly how people were 'converted' to homosexuality: 'I was buggered senseless by three large men for seven days to make me gay'.  Followed up by descriptions of how the alleged victims were first forced to grope women's breasts, then shocked with a cattle prod, before being forced to fondle a man's testicles, then given morphine, in order to reinforce the idea that 'breasts bad, bollocks good'.  Yes, I can see it now - lurid reports on Fox News of homosexual cults kidnapping young men on the street and indoctrinating them to, quite literally, 'worship the penis'.  Cue grainy footage of semi-naked acolytes bowing down before huge stone effigies of cocks.  You see, the propaganda possibilities are endless, making it even more surprising that the right haven't expooted the myth of 'Perversion Therapies'.
